Gardener Gives Away Produce to Serve Community

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” — Og Mandino, American Author

WXII Channel12 in Winston-Salem, NC got wind of a farmer in the area who was growing fresh produce and just giving it away.  So Justin Shrair, one of Channel 12 reporters, headed out to the farm with a film crew for an interview.

Shrair states that “For Tim White, making people smile is just part of the experience. Tim said he loves three things: gardening, putting a smile on people’s faces and feeding them.”

According to White, when COVID-19 hit, he wanted to help his community and made his garden even bigger to give away what he didn’t need to anyone that wanted it.  He’s had a green thumb for as long as he can remember and his garden consists of all kinds of vegetables and fruits.

Tim said he believes generosity and kindness go a long way: “That is what my heart wants to do and make other people smile; it’s an all-around good thing.”  White plans to keep giving his produce away until there’s nothing left.

We, at Sheltering Grace, also believe in generosity and kindness.  We welcome donations for the homeless mothers and babies we serve. Please contact us at 678-337-7858 to learn how you can help. Each mother and baby will be truly grateful for your kindness.

Sheltering Grace Ministry, Ltd. is a 501(c)3 Ltd. non-profit ministry. We resolve the initial crisis of homelessness by providing mothers with a safe place to live during pregnancy. We also equip them with the tools they need to improve decision-making, enhance employment options, and increase family income to act responsibly as the head of their household. All of our services develop their self-reliance to progress to permanent independent living. Please join us in renewing and rebuilding the lives of these brave women – #Be1of5000.
