Doula Services for
Homeless Pregnant Women in Crisis
Our doula program provides compassionate, culturally competent, and faith-based doula care to pregnant and postpartum individuals, with a focus on underserved, low-income, and at-risk communities.
Our mission is to reduce maternal and infant health disparities through education, advocacy, and hands-on support that empowers families during one of life’s most transformative seasons.
Core Doula Services Provided
1. Prenatal Support
- One-on-one prenatal consultations (virtual or in-person)
- Birth planning assistance
- Education on pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery
- Nutritional and wellness guidance
- Emotional and spiritual support
- Resource referrals (OBs, midwives, WIC, housing, etc.)
2. Labor & Birth Support
Participants receive the following services during the Womanhood Phase:
- Continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during labor
- Comfort measures (breathing techniques, positioning, massage, etc.)
- Advocacy in medical or home birth settings
- Partner coaching and support
- Support through cesarean birth or VBAC
3. Postpartum Care
- In-home or virtual postpartum visits (within the first 6–8 weeks)
- Breastfeeding/chestfeeding education and support
- Newborn care tips and safe sleep education
- Maternal mental health screenings and referrals
- Assistance with adjusting to life with a newborn
4. Specialized Support Areas
- Support for teen mothers
- High-risk pregnancy and loss support
- Faith-based encouragement and prayer (upon request)
- Support for single parents and families in crisis
- Referrals for postpartum depression or trauma care
