Atlanta, GA December 11, 2015 – In preparation for a triple increase in capacity, Sheltering Grace Ministries has launched a new fundraising campaign, “Be 1 of 5000,” to ensure the opening of a new housing facility for metro Atlanta’s homeless expectant mothers and infants. The nonprofit is still seeking additional giving partners in order to reach its $500,000 operating budget goal for 2016. To meet this target, Sheltering Grace is seeking 5,000 new giving partners to pledge $100 donations. Each contributing individual becomes an important “1” of the greater 5,000.

After nearly a decade of operating out of Norcross with a six-bed capacity, Sheltering Grace will open a recently gifted 15-bedroom facility in East Point, Georgia, provided by the Archdiocese of Atlanta. “We have been working diligently to prepare this new home and are grateful for the gifts we have already received,” stated Executive Director, Dr. Ralph Bell, “but we’ll need more help from the community to meet our new operating budget in the New Year.”

As individuals, businesses, and churches consider nonprofits for year-end giving, Sheltering Grace—the only dedicated maternity home in North Georgia serving adult women and their infants—deserves to be on every donation list. Whether a one-time gift or continuing monthly partnership, the ministry welcomes all donations. Interested parties can also participate in the Adopt-a-Mom program to support mothers as they leave Sheltering Grace and transition into independent living.
