A social media challenge called “Five Acts of Kindness Challenge” shows how small actions are enough to make a person’s day.

GA Man Challenges Community To 5 Acts Of Kindness

“You always feel better when you can do something kind for somebody else and it becomes contagious. Your hand in mine is the catalyst positive impact in our society, and if we do nothing, nothing changes.” – Darius Robinson, founder of Affect the Culture.

No matter how bad your life feels, chances are someone else is having a rougher time. The division in our society only exacerbates those challenges. Rather than simply get by the best you can, a local Georgia man has decided to do his part to positively affect the culture around him.

Channel 12 News sat down with Darius Robinson, founder of Affect the Culture, to learn more about how his “Five Acts of Kindness Challenge” on social media is making a difference in his community and across the rest of the U.S. as people catch onto his vision.

According to Robinson, “a little can go a long way.”  So his group started paying for Starbucks coffees as people walked into a store. People were thankful, and one man even walked away in tears. When Robinson asked him why, he shared that he had been through a rough month. That free cup of coffee restored his hope.

Robinson knows that sometimes kindness is all it takes to restore hope, and that it’s important to see value in everyone by filling in the gaps of division with love. That’s why he’s encouraging everyone to be a part of the movement to do five random acts of kindness: “Two of them done outside your daily circle, and share two of them on your social media. He says when you post it on social media to tag five friends to join the challenge.”
